Level of detail here is absolutely amazing. The chefs, the beers, the owner. Everyone and everything here is full of love. Spend a few seconds asking questions and their world opens up to you. Try the pulled pork and the stout... and don’t think twice.

We were here on a quiet Monday night. The food was really tasty, brisket tender and flavorful, sides and veggies yummy. The bbq sauce was unbelievable, but hot. The owner and waitress were attentive and nice. Not typical Oaxacan food, but very good.

Delicious experience, they have a brewery that freshes you after the Oaxaca's hot weather, also a good variety of Mezcals to enjoy, food is great even that you're in Oaxaca and expect a traditional flavor it is refreshing to meet something different, as a person that enjoys smoked food, I know the work behind it and the taste of brisket and pork belly is great, the attention from the personal is absolutely amazing but the VIEW! They have a 360 terrace you can see Santo Domingo as well as the auditorium (where they have the Guelaguetza). I absolutely recommend this place

Alma and her Team are wonderful . The pulled pork cooked with regional spices and smoked for 16 hours is wonderful, their lamb barbacoa is amazing with the organic meat and seasoning. Hand made tortillas and the wonderful surprise for us was their home made artisanal beers!! Their stout with oatmeal is outstanding and their Dunkle, Tropical IPA and the whole array is delicious and have won several prizes . We recommend this Chirundo Cocina de Humo wholeheartedly!

Great terraza with a 360 view on the city, we even got the chance to see some parade from the rooftop! We did not try the food, only the beer but we loved it, it has clear influences from Northern America and Belgium

We didn't eat anything on our visit however we did meet the owner and he went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Not only was he super hospitable, he gave us a tour of the restaurant/brewery and allowed us to partake on... I guess you could call it a "drink by invitation". It's draft beer that's off the menu. We had a Maracuya beer that was soo light and refreshing. Highly recommend. The venue is very clean and beautiful, the rooftop has the BEST VIEW of the church, surrounding city, and the cities hillview lights. This would be a great location for a wedding party or dance classes. Will definitely be back in our next visit.

We spent five days in Oaxaca and Chirundo was on our dining list. The restaurant is a little different from the typical Oaxacan menu. It is smoke inspired: the meats are slow cooked, the sauces are made from smoked habaneros and they have cochinita pilbil! When I commented on how much I loved the sauce, I got a packaged sample to bring home. And when the tree that was overhead dropped some fruit, the owner came over and spoke to us about it. “Sapote”, she said “Come by tomorrow and I’ll show you other varieties “. We did. They were delicious. If you love food and the connection to it, this is the place for you. (They make truly inspired beers too)

This place is phenomenal and is going to be packed every night before you know it. The rooftop has awesome views, but there are also so come cool spots to hang inside (check out the small wooden side bar). The meats are incredible. Great Cochinita.
